Ashley Soogan
Ashley is doing Relay in Brighton, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Brighton.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Hi there!
My name is Ashley and I’m from Malaysia. I am thrilled to be doing Relay in Brighton alongside Brighton Christian Union this year!
I studied Interior Architecture and Design at the University of Portsmouth and as an international student, moving to a new country was difficult. The language was different, meeting so many new people and a huge change of environment. But I have come to understand that through everything, God is the only one that is constant, loving and never changing.
Throughout my year in university, I was surprised by how open students were in hearing and talking about who Jesus is! It has been an absolute joy being part of the CU, and meeting so many people who have been an encouragement in my walk with God. I have seen how God uses the CU to reach students by sharing the gospel and answering big life questions.
I am incredibly excited to be engaged in Brighton CU, whilst getting to know the students, becoming involved in CU events, and helping them in growing their love for Jesus and the CU mission, just as my staff worker had done for me.
As I begin this journey, I would love for you to support me prayerfully and/or financially if you are able to. Your support would be such a blessing as it would help me in my ministry for the next year. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me!

- Please pray that I will adjust to living in Brighton and that I would fully rely on God to provide for me throughout this year.
- Please pray for my relationship with the students, that I will be able to serve the CU well and for God to grow their passion to serve Him and to share their faith on campus.
- Please pray that God will continue to grow me in Christlikeness, and to prepare me for all that I am going to learn this year.
