Adam Penwright

Adam grew up in Biggleswade, a small town once described as “linguistically appealing” by Richard Osman. Aged 18, he went to the University of Birmingham to study Mathematics and Music. The most significant part of this time was a rapidly growing love for Jesus; Adam became convinced that the Christian message was reasonable, wonderful, and worth sharing. After a year as a Relay Worker with UCCF in Birmingham, Adam moved to Cambridge. Initially to work at St Andrew the Great Church, now he works as a UCCF Staff Worker with Cambridge and Bedford CUs. Adam is married to Emma. He enjoys listening to and playing music (on the guitar and piano), and cooking for friends.

Adam says...

When I was a university student, Jesus changed my life. Besides all of the other things you might expect to experience at university, I was amazed to see students around me who were investigating and living out the Christian faith. The local CU patiently answered my questions and I remain so grateful for those friends who helped me to see the goodness and trustworthiness of Jesus.

Now, a few years outside of uni, I’m heading back. Not as a student, but to support the work of the Christian Unions full-time. I’ll be working with UCCF as a Staff Worker in Cambridge and Bedfordshire, serving and investing in students there. Many students will have never seriously thought about Christianity before, others will (like I did) arrive at university full of hopes, questions, and presuppositions, and others, in time, will flourish as Christian disciples and leaders.

It’s a real passion of mine to see students reaching students with the good news about Jesus. Your support of my work can help this happen. It would mean a lot if you would consider partnering with me through your prayer and finances.
