Ben Cutts
Ben is doing Relay in Brighton, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Sussex.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Ben says...
Hi, I'm Ben. I am the Relay Worker for the University of Sussex, but before that, I spent four years at the University of Portsmouth studying for my Masters in Physics (with astrophysics!) and in that time, I found such a home with the people in the Christian Union. It was a privilege and joy to then serve on the committee for my final two years at university, where I continually got to see God at work in the students, and especially the passion and hunger for Him in new believers that I met there. It was great to talk with them as they got to know Jesus more, and find out what He did for them.
Through my time at CU, I also grew massively in my faith, gaining confidence to talk about what I believe, and why I believe it, and I made many good and godly friends through the community there.
On Relay, I will have the opportunity to do more of that - walking alongside students, those exploring, those new to the faith, and those who have been walking with Jesus a while already - encouraging them, and spurring them on to love and good deeds. And as I encourage them, they will also encourage and bless me, as I get to see them grow in love, in faith and in friendship.

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Ben’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Ben:
- Pray that God gives me strength to carry out this work, and that I remember to do it for His glory and in His strength.
- Pray for the students at Sussex, that they would come to know what the Lord has done for them.
- Pray for the CU in Sussex, that through whatever this year has in store, God will guide them through.
