Hannah Dubberley
Hannah is doing Relay in Oxford, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Oxford.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hannah says...
Hi there, my name is Hannah, and I will be doing Relay this year with Oxford Inter-Collegiate Christian Union.
I am really excited to be stepping into this year of ministry and have been expectantly praying that God would use it for his glorious purposes. Being stuck in with the Christian Union at university has been such an encouragement, but also a major challenge to my faith. Walking alongside passionate believers has opened my eyes to the urgency of sharing Jesus in a world so often turned away from him. At the same time, it's been such a joy to see moments of unexpected willingness from my floormates, course-mates and friends to engage with the gospel of Christ.
My partnership with Oxford CU will mean supporting Christian students as they seek to live for Jesus in all areas of student life - in their degrees, friendships and personal spiritual growth. It will also give me the unique privilege of engaging with sceptics, seekers and those hostile to the Christian faith, seeking to point them to meet our redeeming Saviour. Relay also involves a commitment to personal study and discipleship, and I believe this will not only vitally ground my ministry, but also set me up well for a whole life of service.
To be able to step up to such an awesome opportunity I know that I cannot do it alone, or in my own strength. I rely on an all-sufficient God who kindly works through his people. I would love for you to prayerfully consider partnering with me - both in prayer and financially - to make this ministry possible. Because Relay is a volunteering programme, I need to raise sufficient funds to cover my living and ministry expenses across the next year, which I estimate will be about £13,000.
Would you consider joining with me this year to see the gospel transform lives across Oxford?
Pray for Hannah
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Hannah’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Hannah:
- For the universities of Oxford, and across the city, that God would be at work even now to bring people to new life in him.
- For the students that I will be coming alongside in the year ahead, that they would fall deeper in love with Jesus for themselves, and that would propel them to hold out the gospel in confidence and love.
- For me, that I would be willing and open to learn the lessons God has in store for me this year through the trials and the joys. Philippians 3:10-11: 'I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.'
