Sam McQuaker
My time as a student taught me a lot about what it means to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus. There were many fun and joyful times, as well as times of trial and testing. Through it all the Lord showed me that walking the road of my Saviour means following him in the exciting, and often painful, mission of witnessing to him. By far one of the greatest ways he did this was through the Christian Union. Walking alongside my brothers and sisters provided opportunities to experience the joy of gospel partnership, receive faithful teaching and support, and witness to Christ more boldly and clearly than I could on my own.
University is still a hugely formative time for students and a wonderful opportunity for them to hear the gospel. So I’m grateful to God and hugely excited for the opportunity to work with UCCF as a Staff Worker in Cambridge and Hertfordshire. I will be doing what I can to foster a love for Christ and his gospel in the CU, and supporting them as they seek to be salt and light in their university. It’ll be great to return to Cambridge, having spent four years there as a student, and an equal joy to get to know the students in Hertfordshire.
Gospel ministry is never a solo effort and I would love for you to partner with me in prayer and financial support so that many who are far off might become disciples of the risen Lord Jesus.
