Barnabas Kimberley

Barny went to RNCM in Manchester where to his surprise he encountered members of the Christian Union. He was fairly sure he’d be the only Christian at college! This was a pivotal time for his faith and through the support of wise and caring members of the CU Barny found a church, one that he felt at home at, one that would support and guide him in his faith- St Clement’s. Having been so richly provided for as he came to Manchester, Barny has a passion for supporting those in similar situations as he was: Students stepping out into the big wide world, establishing whether to ditch the faith that they grew up with for what the world has to offer, or whether to take that faith seriously and let God direct their life. But what about those who didn’t grow up knowing God’s love for them in the Lord Jesus? Convinced that the Jesus of the Bible is who he says he is, Barny shares a passion for UCCF’s ministry in giving every student the opportunity to hear and respond to this Jesus. And Barny even gets the opportunity of going back to his old stomping ground, RNCM! Having a love for music and knowing the specific challenges facing music students, Barny is so excited to have the opportunity to encourage and equip musicians in the CU to keep going in their faith, and to share it with others. He is so grateful to those who are partnering with him in this mission
