Amy Nicholson
Amy is doing Relay in Glasgow, supporting the Christian Union at the University of Glasgow.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training, and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity that aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource, and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Amy says...
Hi! I’m Amy and I’m from Dundee. I have just completed my degree in Pharmacy at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I am now preparing to start working with the Christian Union at the University of Glasgow to help support and equip them in their evangelism on campus.
Being a part of the Christian Union throughout my time at university helped me to understand the importance of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with students on campus as well as helping me to learn how to better practically live out my faith whilst studying. I have seen God working powerfully, transforming the lives of students through the mission of CU’s and how He can use students in their individual circumstances to tell their friends about Jesus. I am excited to continue to work with UCCF at Glasgow CU this year and see how God will use them for His glory. I will be supporting Glasgow CU in many different ways this year, including helping with events, publicity, bible studies or generally just wherever I am needed! I am also excited to start doing some 1-2-1 bible studies with some younger students, helping them to grow in their love for Jesus and their passion for evangelism. This next year will be challenging but also very exciting and I would love if you could pray that I would continue to grow in my faith and fully trust in God’s plan for my life for the next year.
Relay is a voluntary programme, which means I will be relying on financial support to fund my living expenses for 10 months. With that in mind, I would love to ask if you would partner with me financially? But also, please do partner with me in prayer, as it is only through God that this is possible. If you would like to hear more about what I am doing this year, and to be able to pray for me, please sign up for my prayer newsletter that is linked on this page!
Pray for Amy
Prayer is a vital part of supporting amy’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from amy:
- That students at Glasgow CU would be excited about campus mission and be seeking to grow in deeper relationship with God this year.
- That I would be able to love students at Glasgow CU well this year, supporting them in their needs to effectively support the mission of the CU
- That students at the University of Glasgow would be given the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ through talks and conversations but also through the witness of the lives of CU members.
