Catherine Torrens

Catherine hails from Northern Ireland but has been in Scotland for over 7 years, studying at the University of St Andrews before moving to work with UCCF as a Relay Worker in Glasgow.

Although she became a Christian when she was much younger, it was during her time as a student that she began to understand more fully how transformative the gospel is for everyone and everything around her.

She gets really excited about supporting students at three very different Christian Unions in Glasgow - the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow School or Art and the University of Glasgow - as they use their various crafts to point to Jesus. Whether they are civil engineers, ballet dancers or fashion designers, she loves seeing CU members' God-given desire to introduce their friends to the only one who brings freedom from the relentless pressure to prove themselves through what they do.

As well as this she loves painting, pretending she’s a runner and telling everybody how beautiful Northern Ireland’s north coast is.
