Mirren Derby

Mirren is doing Relay in Bath, supporting the Christian Unions in Bath Spa University, the University of Bath and Norland College.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Hello,

I'm really looking forward to being a Relay worker in Bath this year, focusing on the University of Bath but also working with Bath Spa University and Norland College.

I've loved being part of the Christian Union during my time at Bath Uni and I'm super excited to continue joining in with God's mission on campus. It has been amazing seeing his faithfulness over the last four years and I'm particularly excited to keep reaching out to students who don't yet know him. During University, many students are very open and are learning about who they are and so this is a fantastic opportunity to share the gospel. There are many awesome stories of how God has turned people's lives around during my time at university that I'd love to share with you, but even more I'd love to share stories of what he is going to do this year through the CU and Christian community on campus.

I would really love your support this year, both through prayer and finances as I encourage, equip and support the students on campus as they share Jesus with fellow students. I will be sending out a prayer letter where you can hear what God is doing, what I'm up to and join in praying for the CU. This year will be an exciting opportunity to depend on God for my finances as I will not be getting paid and so please do consider supporting me financially. Your generosity is much appreciated!

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Mirren’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Mirren:

Praise God for the welcome we have had at Bath Uni and the people that have already come to know Jesus through the CU.
Pray for creativity for how to reach the many students who don't yet know Jesus, especially the international and postgraduate students.
Pray that the CU would be rooted in the Gospel and spurred on by it, to love and serve God on campus boldly.
