Sophie Anelay
Sophie is doing Relay in Gloucestershire, supporting the Christian Unions in the University of Gloucestershire, Hartpury University and Hartpury College and Royal Agricultural University.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Sophie says...
Coming to the end of my equine course at the Royal Agricultural University, I am really looking forward to spending another year in Gloucestershire investing in the mission of Christian Unions (CUs) at the University of Gloucestershire, Hartpury University, and of course Royal Ag.
Living as a Christian at university and being a part of CU in the past three years has been a hugely faith growing, confidence building, and yet humbling experience, and I am sure it will continue into the next year. CUs provide such an opportunity for Christians on campus to inspire and push each other to live as lights and share the life-giving news of Jesus - this is the last best chance to reach people with the gospel, and living as a Christian is so much better when you go all in.
During Relay I will be able to help the Gloucestershire CUs to put the vision of CU into practice. I am also looking forward to growing in my own relationship with God and understanding of the Bible through the teaching programme and all the things God has in store for me in the coming year. Please do come along for the ride with me, whether that be through signing up for a regular prayer letter or giving financially – let's see God grow his Kingdom in the coming year!!
Pray for Sophie
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Sophie’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Sophie:
- Please give thanks for those who have made the decision to be on committee this year, be praying that they would grow in their excitement and commitment to the CU vision and in their own relationship with God.
- Pray that God would be opening the hearts of people at the three universities and putting these people in the paths of the Christians on campus.
- Pray for God to bless us as the UCCF Gloucestershire team and the CUs with great unity and joy.
