Joanna Wearring

Joanna is doing Relay in London, supporting the Christian Unions in The Place - Contemporary Dance School and University of the Arts London.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Joanna says...

Hi! I'm Joey, I have just finished my Musical Theatre degree at Falmouth University and I'm super excited to be doing Relay with the University of the Arts London and The Place Dance School.

University is such a pivotal and unique phase of life; for a lot of students it's their first taste of real independence and it's a time when a lot of people start to learn more about life and about themselves which is why I think it is so important that students are supported and can be reached to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. It can be really hard as a Christian student, especially when you might be the only Christian on your course or in your flat. I really want to encourage the CUs at UAL and The Place in their existing faith and I cannot wait to outreach to students who are yet to receive the gospel. I had so much fun being a part of the Christian Union at Falmouth; meeting with other Christian students to read the Bible, leading worship and calling Ceilidhs were just some of the wonderful times I had serving there.

As Relay is a volunteer programme I am in need of financial and prayer support. As I'm sure you know, living in London is expensive so I am aiming to raise around £12,000 to cover rent, living and ministry costs.
