Transformative. That would be the word I’d use to describe my experience at university, and I think many others would too. Paul writes in Romans 12:2, ‘Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.’ It was at university, through the work of the Christian Union, that I found my mind being renewed. My once private, happy-to-compromise faith, has now been replaced by a delight and desire in sharing the gospel with both my own heart and others.
In my new role supporting Birmingham and Worcester CU’s, I have the opportunity to share this transformation with those who have never heard the gospel and those who have yet to discover the joy in sharing their faith with others. I pray their lives will be transformed just like mine was, and their minds renewed with delight in the gospel. I’ll be working to equip and disciple these students for evangelism, to give evangelistic talks to seeking students and to get this new generation of students excited for the transformation that God will produce in them!
