Joshua McFarland
Joshua is doing Relay in Coventry, supporting the Christian Union in Coventry University.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Joshua says...
Hey! I'm Josh and I'm going to be the Relay Worker at Coventry.
I studied biomedical science at Keele University and became involved in serving with the Christian Union throughout my time there, which has really helped me to grow in my faith. After coming out of COVID to meeting people face to face again, I've constantly been encouraged and motivated to see the impact of evangelism through students, both through those who are confident and those who feel weak, especially during events and through personal conversations. Moreover, to have the fellowship with like-minded Christians and to mutually encourage and build each other up has been a blessing to be a part of.
As I go into this next year in Coventry, I'm excited to work with and support other students, to help them to grow in their love for God and the CU mission, and to see how God uses them to reach the students there.
To do this I will need support, financially to fund ministry costs and living expenses, but most importantly in prayer. I'm looking forward to what this next year holds and seeing how God is going to work in Coventry!
Pray for Joshua
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Joshua’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Joshua:
- For the opportunities that the students on campus will have the confidence to speak the Gospel to their friends who will be receptive
- That I can put my full trust in God throughout the year, knowing He is a God who provides
- Prayer that I can serve and support the CU well throughout the year without burning out
