Zach Taylor
Zach is doing Relay in Birmingham, supporting the Christian Unions in Birmingham City University, the University of Birmingham and the University of Worcester.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Zach says...
Hi! I’m Zach and I’m going to be supporting students at the Christian Unions in and around Birmingham.
Being a part of CU whilst at university has been transformational in my faith. It was a joy to serve alongside friends to put on evangelistic events and I was amazed at how God provided the resources we needed and humbled at how He worked unexpectedly to enable students to hear the gospel. I’m so excited to help the CUs organise more events like this and to come alongside students in their walk with Jesus by opening the Bible and praying together as they witness to their friends.
I’m also particularly looking forward to the theological studies I will be undertaking, including the Arts Network elective, in which I will be building on my History of Art degree by exploring how the Bible speaks into art and ways that arts students can communicate the gospel through their work.
I know the year will be a challenge at times, especially as I try new things like giving talks on campus, but I trust that God will be working through me and growing me to be more Christ-like.
I would be very grateful if you would consider partnering with me over the next year, most importantly through prayer and financially if you are able. Relay is a voluntary role, meaning I am raising my own living costs for the year. Please do get in touch with me if you’d like to find out more!
Pray for Zach
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Zach’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Zach:
- That I would know how best to use my time to help the CUs and to enable me to grow in my devotion to God throughout the year.
- That I would trust God to provide what I need for the year and that I'd lean on his strength and not my own.
- That God would use me to help other students come to know him and to encourage CU members in their faith.
