Alex Trowsdale
Hiya! My name is Alex and I’m super excited to be a Staff worker based in Lancaster working with CU’s in the North West. I was born and bred in Bristol before heading up north to study History at the University of York for 4 years. I would say I spent most of my time in the library but that wouldn’t be true!
I first encountered Jesus at University through friends inviting me along to the CU Carol Service and Events Week in 2020, this led to me going to church for the first time and hearing the Gospel – to say that was life changing would be an understatement. I know first-hand how important the work that the CU does in supporting the local church in fulfilling the great commission; I feel so privileged to help students in Lancaster to do just that. The Gospel is the best news ever and it needs sharing – Christian Unions are uniquely placed to do that.
I also recognise how tricky it is to be a student – university can be the most formative years of our lives when we start to become more independent, ask bigger questions, and actually get to know ourselves whilst we transition into ‘adulthood’. I can’t wait to be a friendly face to walk alongside these students (Christian or not), helping them know more of Jesus and his abundant grace to us – what a joy!
