Shannah Dunne
Shannah is doing Relay in Lancaster, supporting the Christian Unions in Lancaster University and University of Cumbria - Ambleside.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Shannah says...
Hey! My name is Shannah and I’ll be working as a Relay Worker with both Lancaster CU and Ambleside CU next year. I was born in Durban, South Africa, moved to Oxfordshire when I was a baby, and then moved up to the University of York to study Sociology with Social Psychology for 3 years.
I grew up in church, but fully understood God’s love and sacrifice when I was 16. At the time, God used the people in my church youth group to powerfully transform my understanding of the gospel. I was very keen and excited to get stuck into the Christian Union at York and loved throughout my time there seeing how different members of Christ’s body could use their gifts creatively to expand the Kingdom. Something I am really looking forward to about Relay is helping students who love Jesus, and students who don’t know him yet, see God’s love for them in his intricate design. And through that, working alongside them to share the gospel with those around them while at university. Practically, I will be doing lots of Bible studies, evangelism, and just trying to be helpful for the CUs as they seek to live for Jesus on their campuses. As well as getting stuck into lots of theological content at the same time.

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Shannah’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Shannah:
- That the Lord would use me well to expand the Kingdom, that I would be bold in evangelism.
- That I would have gratitude for the experiences the Lord gives me while doing Relay, that I would trust him fully and his plans.
- For relationships within both Lancaster CU and Ambleside CU, that students would seek unity in the gospel always, and really grow in love for their CU community.
