Lili Kurzfeld
Lili is doing Relay in Lancaster, supporting the Christian Unions in Lancaster University and University of Cumbria - Lancaster Campus.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Lili says...
Hi! My name is Lili and I am so excited to be doing Relay this year. I have just graduated from Lancaster University and I will continue to stay here as I work alongside Lancaster University and Cumbria University Christian Unions.
I am really looking forward to building upon the existing friendships, foundations and connections I have already made over the last three years while studying here, and I can’t wait to meet new people. Lancaster feels like my home and being able to continue to serve God here feels like such a blessing to me. I prayed a lot about this role and I feel really at peace knowing that this is where God wants me for the next year.
Lancaster is really special and close to my heart, as I wasn’t raised as a Christian, rather I looked into faith when I joined university. It was thanks to the Christian Union society that I went to church for the first time, and was introduced to the gospel and who Jesus is. My life has transformed as a result of knowing that there is a God who loves me and that I am in need of a perfect saviour. Being able to have experienced this personally is such a driving motivator for me within this role. I can’t think of anything better than being able to bring believers and non believers closer to Christ through the Christian Union, just as I once experienced. I feel so blessed to be able to further grow the kingdom in this way, and I can’t think of anything I would want to do more than to talk to people about Jesus.
Within this role I’ll be working alongside the Christian Union society through evangelism and first contact outreach, working specifically alongside individual students, partnering with them in their walk with God. This brings me so much joy and I am just so excited for it.
In order to do this though, I have to raise support in order to cover my living and ministry expenses. My aim is to raise £10,000 for the year, so if you could carefully and prayerfully consider if you are able to give financially in any way I would be beyond grateful. Support is not just financial though, and I would love to create a partnership in prayer with anyone who is wanting to support me. I will be sending out a prayer letter every month, so please do consider if you would want to be a part of any of these areas at all. Thank you so much!
Pray for Lili
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Lili’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Lili:
- That I would put my full trust in God in what He has planned for me within this role, and that I would submit to Him and have full confidence of this calling.
- I pray I can live for Him and love Him with my whole heart, growing in my understanding of Him and my knowledge of Scripture.
- My final prayer is that the students in Lancaster can hear the gospel and truly get to know Jesus, and I can assist in all ways I can.
