Daniel Petch
Daniel is doing Relay in Reading, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Reading.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Hey, I'm Dan. I spent the last 3 years studying Economics at the University of Portsmouth, and I'm super excited to be working with Reading CU over this next year!
When I first started university, I was worried about finding friends and community, but those fears were expelled as soon as I went to CU. I found and fell in love with the fellowship and unity found in Christ Jesus, the want and need to spread the good news, and the joy that can be found in all situations. Whilst at CU, I've learnt and grown so much in my faith, doing things and putting myself out there in ways I would not have done before coming to university, and it's all thanks to His goodness and grace. I've loved seeing over the past three years the continued growing passion that students have for spreading the gospel, and the transformational effect it has had in their lives and the lives of those around them, and I'm looking forward to seeing that passion continue to grow in the students in Reading!
I can't wait to come alongside the students at such a pivotal moment in their lives, joining their community and helping it to grow, sharing the same joy and friendship that I found when I first came to university, and seeing how God not only grows their faith but also mine alongside them.

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Daniel’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Daniel:
- Please pray that whilst this next year will be a challenge, I can fully embrace it knowing it is Christ who strengthens me.
- Please pray for Reading CU and for the new committee members, that in any challenges they face they will remain firm with Christ as their foundation.
- Please pray for the new students arriving in Reading this year, that the CU can reach them so they can all know the amazing grace and love that Christ has for them.
