Sharon is doing Relay in Glasgow, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Glasgow.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Sharon says...
Hi! I’m Sharon, I’ve just finished my Law degree in Leeds, and from September I will be working with the CU in the University of Glasgow as their Relay Worker.
I’m incredibly blessed to have been a part of the CU during my time in university, and to have been so encouraged to see God’s work transforming lives on campus. I love how people of all diverse backgrounds are brought together in one faith openly proclaiming the gospel. I am so excited to see how God continues to use us to encourage, support and extend His love to His people, even the ones who may not know Him yet! It is only by God’s grace that I can dedicate a year to working in student ministry, and I know He will do great things this coming year!
I would love for you to pray that God brings many students in Glasgow to faith. Please also pray that I fully trust and submit to Him as He guides me along this path. As my role with Relay is voluntary and self-funded, I am aiming to raise approximately £10,000 to cover my living and ministry costs. I would be so thankful if you would consider supporting me either financially or prayerfully.
Thank you and God bless,
Sharon
Pray for Sharon
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Sharon’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Sharon:
- Praise God for the love Glasgow CU has for Him! Pray that He would continue to strengthen and encourage them as they share the gospel boldly on campus.
- Pray that God would open and soften the hearts of students at the universities in Glasgow, so they may see and experience His great love for them.
- Pray that I will trust and surrender all circumstances to Christ, wanting glory for Him, not myself, enabling me to grow closer to Him this year.
