Robert van Dijke

Robert is doing Relay in Aberdeen, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Aberdeen.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Robert says...

Hi, my name is Robert. I’ve just graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Masters degree in Aeronautical Engineering and this next year I will be the Relay Worker at the University of Aberdeen!

Being part of the CU at the University of Glasgow has been such a big part of my personal faith development and so I really wanted to do a year of Relay so I could give back and help other people get to know Jesus and to grow in their own faith. I have always enjoyed planning and running events so I’m looking forward to doing that with the members of Aberdeen CU and I also hope that through the power of the Holy Spirit God would help me to have conversations with students who don’t yet know Jesus who open their hearts to see His love and grace for them.

Pray that I would faithfully work alongside Aberdeen CU members to make the gospel known to many students at the University of Aberdeen.
Pray that God would help me in conversations with students to speak with gentleness and boldness so that the love of Jesus may be revealed to them.
Pray that I would continue to grow in my faith and that all my work would be to the glory of God.
