Brent Mellows
Brent is doing Relay in Newcastle upon Tyne, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Northumbria.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Brent says...
Hi my name is Brent Mellows and I am going to be a Relay Worker for Northumbria CU, where I have just finished my degree in mechanical engineering.
I loved my time at Northumbria CU as a student, and I am grateful for the people there who helped me settle into a church. Through the CU I have also made lifelong friends and grown a lot in my faith. My passion for evangelism has increased throughout my time at CU, and it has led me to both serve on committee during my time as a student, and now to be a Relay Worker. I am doing Relay because I would like to give back in any way that I can. I am looking forward to supporting the committee and individuals in the wider CU, as well as being able to devote a larger chunk of time to studying the Bible at a deeper level.
Please support me by praying for me and the CU this academic year. If you would like to join my prayer letter click the link on this page and sign up. Another way you could support me is financially, as this is a volunteer role that requires fundraising. I am aiming to raise around £12,000 to cover my living and ministry costs. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
God bless.
Pray for Brent
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Brent’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Brent:
- Please pray that I would grow closer to God during my time as a Relay Worker
- That I would encourage and equip the CU members to boldly share the gospel to students on Northumbria campus
- That I would have opportunities to share the gospel to people who haven't accepted Jesus yet
