Eleri Johnston

Eleri is doing Relay in Newcastle Upon Tyne, supporting the Christian Union in Newcastle University.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Eleri says...

Hello! My name is Eleri, and I will be serving as a Relay Worker for the Christian Union at Newcastle University.

I have been part of Newcastle’s CU throughout my time at university, and it has often been a space that has challenged and encouraged me to boldly share the good news that Jesus brings with both friends and strangers. Through this, I have really learnt how God works so powerfully to transform people’s lives, even in the most ordinary of contexts. I am super excited to have this opportunity to support students as they also develop in their faith and understanding of God’s power and grace, and I look forward to witnessing the ongoing growth of the CU. I have been praying that, through His gospel, God will continue to transform the lives of students who do not yet know Him!

This year, I will be relying a lot on the Lord’s strength and provisions, so I would love if you could pray for me and for the work of Newcastle CU. I will be sending out prayer letters with updates throughout the year, so if you would like to know more, please do sign up to those. Relay is also a voluntary role, meaning I will be fundraising my living and ministry expenses throughout the year.
