Joe Winstone
I grew up in Littlehampton, a coastal town famed for the UK’s longest bench (324 metres). My teenage years down there saw me find both the best of mates and a place in a touring steel band, but the greatest find of all happened a couple of years before leaving, when I discovered Jesus is alive and chose to follow Him.
I then moved up north to university in York to study a Combined Arts degree. God used this time as an undergraduate to grow my love for Him and spark a fervent desire to see those who don’t yet know Him follow Him too. Joining with dear Christian Union friends to proclaim the gospel threw up some of the most formative and memorable experiences of my student days. The Lord has continued to shape in me an enthusiasm for evangelism during my years previously serving with UCCF and MOET (Michael Ots Evangelism Trust) - I can’t think of anything that makes me feel more fully alive than praying with someone as they repent and believe in Jesus for the first time! Most recently I worked in management for a tuition company, where I enjoyed many enriching conversations with colleagues holding vastly different beliefs.
As I join the North East team for a second time, I’m delighted to be supporting students in Leeds as they live for Jesus and invite others to know Him. Spiritual openness and interest is growing among students in Leeds as it has been in many universities across Great Britain, so I’m really excited to see His kingdom grow and lives changed for His glory. I’d be grateful if you could consider partnering with me to pray and give financially. Please do reach out - I’d love to hear from you!
