Katherine is doing Relay in Leeds, supporting the Christian Unions in Leeds Beckett University and Leeds Conservatoire.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Katherine says...
My name is Katie and I have just finished my third year of studying medicine and now I am taking a year out before finishing off my degree to do Relay
As a Relay Worker I will journey alongside students at Leeds Beckett and Leeds Conservatoire and encourage them in the gospel, doing mentoring, as well as providing practical support in the running of evangelistic events and CU meetings. My hope for Relay is that we will see students be able to authentically come and bring their doubts, questions, and curiosities about Christianity and that through CU mission we will see them meet Jesus and discover the love that he has for them! For me more personally- my prayer is that I will grow in confidence in the gospel and assurance of what Christ has done for me.
To enable me to do Relay -I will need the help of supporters to pray for me, encourage me, walk alongside me, and to practically support me. I will need to support raise my living costs for the year which I am expecting to be in the region of £5000. This could mean that I need…

- To see Leeds Beckett CU grow in size and diversity over the next year- and to reflect Jesus in the way that it loves people from all walks of life!
- That the Spirit would be working in me to make me generous, patient, kind and encouraging as a Relay worker over the next year. Pray that I would be able to speak with wisdom to students and that God will use me to bless Beckett and Conservatoire CU.
- Pray that I would love and trust in Jesus more each day!
