Olivia Clarke
Olivia is doing Relay in Newcastle Upon Tyne, supporting the Christian Union in Newcastle University.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Olivia says...
Before I started at Newcastle University to study Biomedical Science, my sister inspired and encouraged me to share my faith in God with my friends and pray for them to come to know Him, and particularly with other freshers when I started at Newcastle. Through doing this and being encouraged by seeing God answer those prayers, my desire and love for seeing people come to know Jesus was significantly deepened. That's why I am so excited to be the Relay Worker for Newcastle CU, inspiring other Christians to introduce Jesus to their friends and then to see the fruit of His faithfulness and their prayers, hopefully seeing many students make steps towards Jesus or even come to know Him as their God.
Also having been an international student myself in Germany for a year, I am keen to come alongside international students as a friend and prayerful support, hopefully to also share who Jesus is and help them explore what it means to know Him.
My heart is for this year to be led by God's agenda, and I would love you to consider partnering with me in prayer that He would be drawing many students across Newcastle campus to faith in Him and for me as I seek to join in with His work in this. As Relay is voluntary, I am aiming to raise about £10k to cover living and ministry costs and I would be so grateful if you would also consider partnering with me financially.
Pray for Olivia
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Olivia’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Olivia:
- That God would help me to inspire the students of Newcastle CU to get excited about telling their friends about Jesus and they would also inspire each other
- For my heart to seek God and His agenda above my own throughout the year in every way, and to grow in love for Him
- For Newcastle CU to grow in earnestly seeking God to save their non-Christian friends and those on campus, relying solely on His strength rather than their own
