James Warman
James is doing Relay in Sheffield, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Sheffield.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
James says...
Hi! I'm James, the Relay Worker at the University of Sheffield. I have just finished my time at the University of Leeds, having completed my PhD in Chemistry, as well as my undergraduate Chemistry degree before that.
Being around university life for so long (a grand total of 8 years!) has taught me the value of being a student, the freedom to explore key themes in life, and the time to grapple with some of the big questions about faith that begin to shape the future ahead of you. I have a real passion for journeying with students as they tackle these ideas, and I am so excited to see God at work at every step in those journeys, whether being introduced to Jesus for the very first time or continuing in getting to know Him more and more deeply.
For me to be as effective as possible in my ministry and evangelism, I will need the grace of God and your support! I would love for you to partner with me, either through financial or prayerful means (or both!), so that I can afford my living and training costs throughout the year, and most importantly help share the Gospel on campus with the power of prayer from my brothers and sisters in Christ. However you are able support me, it means so much! Thank you!
Pray for James
Prayer is a vital part of supporting James’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from James:
- Prayer for students to hear the Gospel and meet with Jesus in Sheffield
- Prayer for ministry with CU students, to see spiritual growth and grow deeper in faith together
- Prayer for building meaningful relationships with people I meet in Sheffield
