Eleanor Thompson
Eleanor is doing Relay in York, supporting the Christian Union in the University of York.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Eleanor says...
Hello! Thank you for visiting my page!
My name is Eleanor, I have just finished a three year occupational therapy degree at York St Johns, and am now navigating Relay at the comparatively enormous University of York. I had the amazing pleasure of being involved in the Christian Union throughout my time as a student and it was the most amazing blessing and encouragement. As a Relay Worker, I am so excited to continue to see God working in the lives of students, building up believers, and reaching out to those who don't know him yet. I am so excited to bless and support students in evangelism, just as my Relay Workers supported me as a student, to build up my own faith and biblical knowledge this year, and to see what God will do this year!
As a Relay Worker, I am looking to fundraise £10,000 to cover my costs of living and serving the university for this year.
I am so so grateful for your support, whether prayer or financial this year. Thank you, and God bless!
Pray for Eleanor
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Eleanor’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Eleanor:
- Please pray that God would equip and guide me as a relay to bless and encourage new and returning students at the University of York.
- Please pray that God's blessing would be with the Christian Union at the university of York, and that he would be able to work through them to bless and lift up students, and to reach those who don't know him yet.
- Please pray that God would use this year to bless and equip me to serve him this year and in the future, particularly that I would grow in my own faith and learn to trust in God's provision, and that I would have time to be still and grow in love for him.
